Phil Ivey has been labeled as the best poker contender on the planet by quite a few of the top-ranked professionals. Phil Ivey was born in Riverside, CA and moved to New Jersey before reaching turning one. His papa showed him to one cent-ante Five-Card Stud poker. From that point on, he was hooked on poker and wished to pickup every little thing he could about poker. Phil routinely told his grandparents that he wanted to be a professional poker player. Phil didn’t permit the detrimental feedback from others destroy his dream of becoming one of the strongest poker players on the planet.
He began competing intently after acquiring a false ID by the name of Jerome. He sharpened his game at the poker rooms in Atlantic City. The initial number of years for Phil were a learning experience and winning wasn’t a normal outcome at the time. He became known at the 2000 World Series of Poker where he made two final tables and came away with his 1st WSOP bracelet, in a $2, 500 Pot-Limit Omaha game. At the closing table he destroyed a number of the well known professionals including "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.
Phil made a decision to take his game to the successive level and moved out west to Las Vegas. Phil continues to participate in in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the greatest players in the world. Phil credits his achievements to hard work and an undying passion for the game of poker. He says that he’s learning every single day and is incredibly humble about his success. Phil knows he makes errors in each game of poker and constantly strives to get better.
Even though Phil has come first in some large tournaments, he likes winning cash games on a normal basis.
