Internet poker has become world famous lately, with televised events and celebrity poker game events. Its universal appeal, though, arcs back in fact a bit further than its TV scores. Over the years several variants on the original poker game have been developed, including a few games that are not quite poker anymore. Caribbean stud poker is 1 of these particular games. Regardless of the name, Caribbean stud poker is most closely affiliated with blackjack than old guard poker, in that the players bet against the dealer instead of the other players. The succeeding hands, are the established poker hands. There is no bluffing or other types of concealment. In Caribbean stud poker, you are expected to pay up prior to the croupier saying "No further bets." At that point, both you and the house and of course all of the different gamblers acquire 5 cards. Once you have seen your hand and the bank’s initial card, you must in turn make a call wager or surrender. The call bet’s value is on same level to your beginning bet, indicating that the stakes will have doubled. Abandoning means that your ante goes immediately to the house. After the bet is the showdown. If the casino doesn’t have ace/king or better, your wager is given back, plus an amount in accordance with the initial wager. If the bank does have ace/king or better, you succeed if your hand is greater than the dealer’s hand. The bank pays cash equal to your bet and fixed expectations on your call wager. These odds are:
- Even for a pair or high card
- 2-1 for two pairs
- 3-1 for three of a kind
- 4-1 for a straight
- 5-1 for a flush
- 7-1 for a full house
- 20-1 for a 4 of a kind
- 50-1 for a straight flush
- 100-1 for a royal flush
