Terrible Fortune in Poker

For a game where the majority of participants occasionally consider fortune, there are tons of superstitions in poker. When you say that a player was lucky in that poker tournament they won, be careful of how you mention it. For instance, if you say that you were unlucky, your fortune may never change.

Ok, that may sound a bit strange, but poker is a game loaded with superstitions. Did you know that if you’re wagering a game with two seperate decks and you are asked to pick the deck, you should always pick the deck that is the furthest away from you? Or, how about If you have a streak of poor cards, you must sit on a hankerchief to break your terrible luck? It is certainly considered good fortune to blow through a pack of cards when they’re being randomized.

Some other interesting poker superstitions are:

  • You can change the run of cards by going around your chair 3 times.
  • The luckiest seat at the poker table faces the entry.
  • The most detrimental position has its rear to a fireplace.
  • When altering chairs, you really should constantly do so clockwise.
  • The worst poker card is the four of clubs.
  • It’s most unfortunate to sit with your legs crossed at the poker table.
  • Sunday is a awful day for wagering on cards.
  • The 13th is also a bad day, despite when it falls.
