Free poker tournaments are every day events that occur on a lot of the best net poker websites. Freerolls are greatly favored by the poker wagering community as they offer the poker players the chance to win some bona fide $$$$ without losing any. The buyin to these freerolls is – like their titles indicates – free of charge and jackpot $$$$ can range from a few dollars for finishing near the top to hundreds of dollars for capturing the huge freeroll texas hold’em poker tournaments.
So why do the poker websites have free tournaments? Is it as a result of their extremely generous makeup and the reality that they acquire massive amounts of $$$$$ so they have a moral obligation to bestow a bit of it back?
What do you believe!
No of course it isn’t, the basis that the great poker rooms offer freerolls is to bring in people to their poker room.
Here’s the idea in a nutshell – You hear that a poker room has a great freeroll, it costs you nothing to participate in and you can capture $100. You think "excellent!" and you head over to the poker site and get registered as a member so you can play the freeroll. You wager and get knocked out early and are annoyed on the grounds that you believe you should have faired much better, or you go close to winning and so you are wanting some more excitement. So what happens? You spend some cash at the poker site and wager on another poker match!
Make sure to check the freerolls for payout requirements, you’ll nearly always need to participate in some hands for real cash before they allow you take the $$$$ out. Generally this is on a one to one basis, so if you win 20 dollars at the freeroll poker tournament you’ll need to have played for 20 dollars in bonafide $$$$$ in order for you to be able to claim the $$$$.
