Gus Hansen enjoyed a marvelous year on the WPT where he was the only one to achieve final table in three of the events. Gus Hansen has been seen on High Stakes Poker on The Game Show Network where he paid $400, 000 to play. You may remember one of the biggest pots in high stakes poker recorded history against Daniel Negreanu. Hansen secured a massive pot with 4 of a kind against Negreanu’s full house. Hansen has earned many tv poker appearances and is deemed to be one of the best players anywhere in the world. While playing online poker, another side of Hansen has been seen. Gus frequently participates in the 200/400 NL max buy-in of Forty Thousand dollars. Hansen usually buys-in for the min of $16, 000 and plays very poorly. He waits for a decent hand and then pushes all-in. I know Hansen is an excellent poker player but not even close to the regular players at 200/400no limit. Unless Gus is broke, he has absolutely no reason to play at the table with the minimum buy-in.
Buying in for the minimum takes a majority of the ability out of deep stack poker. Hansen is assumed to be 1 of the greatest players in the world but he can’t buy-in for the full amt.. I think television can alter our view of the real world every now and then. The best poker players in the world might be players you have will not have heard about. Gus can be seen betting on web poker on Full Tilt. He commonly participates in big stakes omaha eight-or-better and texas holdem. Gus Hansen has shown himself as a tournament player. Can he back up his skills in money rounds?
