Pai Gow Poker is a current game with old ancestry. Built on the old Chinese domino game and the current American version of poker, Pai Gow poker joins the east with the western in a fantastic game for early level gamblers.
Pai Gow is a poker game that pits the gambler against the dealer, not like the majority of other poker games that gamblers wager with other players. By playing against the dealer, beginner players do not have to worry about other, more experienced individuals winning their moolla.
One more Pai Gow edge is the generally leisurely game play, beginners should be able to take their time and strategize without having to make hasty choices.
It is also easier to play for a long time with just a little bit of money since, to lose, both of your hands must be under each of the dealer’s hands.
Pai Gow is played with 53 cards; the regular 52-card common deck and a single joker. The player is assigned seven cards faces showing and the croupier gets 7 cards face down.
A five card hand and one two card hand have to be put together from the seven cards, the five card hand must be better than the 2 card hand. To win, a player needs both of his hand totals to be better than the casino’s.
