Pai Gow uses 53 cards; the familiar 52-card standard deck and a single joker. The player is assigned seven cards face up and the croupier receives seven cards face down.
A five card hand and a two card hand need to be put together from the 7 cards dealt, the five card hand must be stronger than the 2 card hand. To win, a player is required to have both of his hand values to be higher than the houses.
